Weekday Preschool Classes
In Toddler classes children will begin to feel comfortable being away from home while they interact with other children. They will begin their preschool experience with an introduction to colors, letters and numbers. Children will have the opportunity to learn through music and playtime activities.
Toddler Classes are offered on Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursdays from 9:00-11:30. If there is enough interest students from either class can attend on Fridays as well.
Our age 3 and Early Learner classes are designed to enable a child to experience and explore learning in a social setting. The focus of our program is socialization and physical development of large and small motor skills, and it incorporates academic learning, covering letters, numbers, and shapes. Our goal is that this exploration will build self-confidence for your child, and we know that this is a good foundation for future learning about the world around them.
Early Learner Classes are offered on Monday/Wednesdays and Tuesday/Thursdays from 9:00-11:30. If there is enough interest students from either class can attend on Fridays as well.
Age 3 Classes are offered on Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursdays from 9:00-11:30. Students can attend MWF for a 3 day experience. Full day classes are also offered on MWF or TTH from 9:00-3:00. TTH we have a 9:00-1:00 option as well.
The Excentia Human Services classroom is an inclusive learning setting where learners of all abilities have a chance to experience preschool activities based on developmentally appropriate practice which considers the individual skill level of each child. We provide educational experiences in a nurturing environment which inspires a love of learning. We use a variety of approaches to learning within our classroom in order to provide meaningful learning opportunities for all young children.
We especially like to use multi-sensory experiences during learning activities which allow each child to touch, smell, hear, see, move and sometimes even provide tastes of items/materials during specific activities. We use a theme-based curriculum in order to build vocabulary skills important for literacy learning, social skills and building concept knowledge. Our vision is to create a community where all children have equal opportunity and equal value. We are very blessed to work closely with the staff of Excentia Human Services at our preschool. The preschoolers who attend Excentia Human Services have special needs. We believe that integrating the typically developing students from Manor Church Preschool along with those with special needs benefits all of the children.
Families that wish to have a typically developing student from Manor Church Preschool can join the Excentia classroom on Monday/Wednesday/Fridays from 9:00-11:30 or Tuesday/Thursday from 9:00-11:30.
The age 4 program provides opportunities to prepare your child for kindergarten. This program is more structured than the age 3 program and encourages children to explore their environment through various mediums. This further develops socialization skills and improves fine motor skills. Activities, units of study, and developmental experiences enhances the day-to-day academic exercises.
Age 4 Classes are offered on Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings from 9:00-11:30. Full day classes are also offered on MWF from 9:00-3:00. Tuesday/Thursday students can attend classes from 9:00-1:00 or 9:00-3:00. (*Full day and extended day classes are combined classes for Age 4 and Age 5 students.)
The age 5 program is created for children who meet the age requirement to attend kindergarten but choose to wait, or they have a fall birthday and cannot attend kindergarten. This class is designed in such a way that children are asked to perform many of the tasks that kindergarten children are doing but in a more relaxed environment. Our class does not replace kindergarten. Besides academic skills, we provide many activities/hands-on experiences and extracurricular programs that encourage the children to ask questions and build self-confidence in a classroom setting.
Pre-K Classes are offered on Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings from 9:00-11:30. Students can also join us Monday-Friday for a 5 morning experience. Tuesday/Thursday students can attend classes from 9:00-1:00.
